Can I get credit for previous study in Higher Education?
If you have already completed or partially completed a course in
Higher Education, it may be possible to enter some of York St
John’s programmes with credit. We can assess how much credit is
appropriate for the study you have done and you could enter the
second or exceptionally the final year of a relevant programme.
Examples of qualifications we can give credit for include BTEC
Higher National Diplomas and Certificates and Diplomas of Higher
Education. Successful completion of part of a degree programme
elsewhere in the country may also lead to entry with credit.
You will still need to apply for entry with credit through UCAS.
However, it is useful to contact Admissions at York St John first
to assess whether entry with credit is possible. We will normally
require a full academic transcript and module breakdown to assess
whether you have sufficient credits and whether there is a
reasonable match between what you have studied and what you now
intend to study.
Please note that only credit obtained through study at York St
John will count towards your degree classification.
