Developmental Coordination Disorder Research UK - 8 July 2010

"Excellent conference, good spread of topics and links to practice"

Held on 7th and 8th of July these two one day conferences were hosted by York St John University in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University. They were attended by people from a wide range of professional backgrounds with the aim of improving services for children.

The keynote speaker for both days was Dr. Jill Zwicker, an occupational therapist from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Previously held in Oxford and Newport, Gwent the conferences brought together therapists, teachers, psychologists, doctors, academics and researchers enabling them to share knowledge and ideas in a multi-disciplinary forum. 

 

Developmental Coordination Disorder, Research, UK

The Developmental Coordination Disorder Research UK conference included presenters from University of Leeds, Goldsmiths and Royal Holloway, University of London, Coventry University, Cardiff University, University of Wales, Queen Margaret University, York and Humber, Solihull and Lothian NHS Trusts and Wakefield Local Education Authority.

The presenters included professors, academics, PhD students, psychologists, teachers and clinicians.

There were over 90 delegates from the UK,  Ireland, Ghent, Greece, Italy, Norway, Israel and Canada.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive including comments such as:

"Found workshops interesting and challenging"

Handwriting in the UK

The Handwriting in the UK conference included presenters from University of Haifa, Israel, University of Leeds, Oxford Brookes University, York St John University, University of London and Nuffield NHS Trust.

There were over 80 delegates from the UK, Ghent, Norway and Canada. The presenters included professors, academics, PhD students, psychologists and clinicians.

Again feedback was very positive, comments included:
