Feedback Policy
1. The
University provides feedback on request for the benefit of
unsuccessful applicants in their personal development.
2.
Feedback is provided to enable applicants to reflect on their
progress through the application process and does not constitute a
reconsideration of an application or a challenge to the
University’s decision on an application.
3. The
University believes in a holistic approach to selection, in
considering applications the University therefore takes into
account all aspects of the
UCAS

applicants on admissions decisions and are required to record the
reasons for admissions decisions together with supporting
information.
6. In
taking the decision to offer or reject, the University is taking
into account all the information that has been made available. As
each application is assessed on its own strengths and merits, the
relative weight placed on these different aspects of selection
varies from applicant to applicant, and between different degree
programmes.
7. Once a
decision has been made to reject an applicant, that decision will
be recorded on the applicants form along with a reason for the
rejection.

16. The University
recommends applicants to read the available information on entry
requirements and assessment criteria before requesting further
feedback, as in many cases this will explain why their application
has been unsuccessful.
17. The University
undertakes to reply to all requests for feedback, but applicants
should note that the University prioritises making decisions on
applications over providing feedback to unsuccessful applicants and
therefore at certain times of the year there may be a delay in
providing feedback. The University will provide feedback within 20
days from receipt of written request.
18. Feedback will only be
given in written format (not over the telephone or in person).
19. In all cases, it will be
made clear to the applicant that, even if another application is
submitted, there is no guarantee that an offer will ensue based on
previous feedback as all applications are considered afresh. There
will be no discrimination against any applicant who requests
feedback.
20. The University will not
consider an application that has been re-submitted in the same
cycle in light of the feedback provided for the same programme,

feedback to anyone other than the applicant unless Admissions have
been advised to do so by the applicant. The feedback will be
sent to the email address the applicant has provided on their
application form, or to the address stipulated on their letter.
Therefore applicants should ensure that they inform the Admissions
Office of any changes.
