Failed and Deferred Assessment Guide now online

Award results and module results for Semester 1 are now available on e:Vision. We hope the results position you well for Semester 2 and beyond.

Some of you, however, may have outstanding deferred modules, or modules with fail marks. Registry are currently writing individually to those students, with instructions on what to do next, regarding resits. We have written a guide on failed and deferred assessment that contains all the information you need to apply for re-examination or, if appropriate, to take deferred assessment. It is important that you read this guide carefully. You can also download this guide as a PDF document.

If you have any queries about your results and what you must do to progress to the next year, please contact Registry staff immediately for advice, either in person at the Student Advice Counter, Holgate Building, by e-mailing registry@yorksj.ac.uk or by calling direct on 01904 876849 / 876776 / 876923.

Don’t have a rubbish Easter – a message from City of York Council Street Environment & Enforcement Team

The Spring Term went fast!  Easter is upon us and some of you lucky students are going home for a few weeks….please remember a few common courtesies as you leave your accommodation.

  • Your rubbish collection will not change over the Easter period.  Bank holiday collections remain the same.
  • PLEASE only put your rubbish out on the day its due to be collected, or no earlier than 7pm the day before. If you can’t do this, ask a neighbour to help.
  • PLEASE DON’T leave it out any earlier as it can be damaged by vehicles, animals, vermin or even identify thieves.  Not to mention its law breaking.

If you have any extra waste that you need to be rid of, visit James Street Household Waste Recycling Centre or arrange a bulky collection if its not bagged rubbish - for help and advice visit www.york.gov.uk/waste  or call the York Customer Contact Centre on York (01904) 551551.

WARNING!!!

Don’t have a rubbish end to your degree!  Putting rubbish out at the wrong time or dumping it are criminal offences.  If you are found guilty, you could leave your studies with a criminal record and a hefty fine of up to £50,000.

Have a great break and we’ll see you in April.

Assessment results

Module results for Semester 1 2009/10 will be available on e:Vision during February. The marks shown will not be formally 'agreed' until after the meeting of your Faculty's 'Subject-Area Assessment Panel', and therefore are subject to change before then. If you have any queries about the results shown please contact your Faculty office. Results will be confirmed in writing after the meeting of the University's 'Board of Examiners for Progress and Award' on Thursday 4 March 2010. Please do not contact Registry about module results before then.

Award results will be published on e:Vision from Thursday 4 March 2010, following the meeting of the Board of Examiners. Please do not telephone Registry for information about your award before then - we will send award letters to your home address immediately after the Board. Please use e:Vision to ensure your home address is kept up-to-date so that this letter can reach you promptly.
