Ebor Lectures - Partnership

The Ebor Lectures is an ecumenical project jointly organised by York Minster, York St John University, York Institute for Community Theology, The Order of Carmelites and the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and the Humber.

York St John University logoYork St John University .  Established in 1841 as a York Diocesan Training School, York St John University is now a thriving, friendly Higher Education Community of nearly 6,000 students.  Sine 2000, £27 million has been spent on developing the campus to provide a variety of new facilities including a new  Learning Centre and a Student Services Centre.

Carmelite logo new jan10The Order of Carmelites.  The Carmelites or Whitefriars are of the four mendicant orders which have had links with York since the 13th century.  Currently they have a community at More House, Heslington which serves as the Catholic Chaplaincy to the University of York.  They co-sponsor the Chair of Public Theology at York St John University.  http://www.carmelite.org/
