Welcome to enhanced-Learning at York St John
University
Did you know that the e in e-Learning
stands for enhanced? The e-Learning team
is a part of the Flexible Learning Centre.
The e-Learning team exists to
facilitate, develop and guide academic staff in their use of ICT
and emerging technologies to deliver flexible, effective and
engaging learning opportunities for our students.
Currently, this is primarily done through the use of the
University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Blackboard. The Blackboard
promotional video is available via YouTube.
We are able to offer colleagues advice, support and guidance in
any area related to learning with and through
technology, plus online or e-pedagogy. We are also available to
collaborate with academic staff to develop learning resources

English as a Lingua Franca wins 2nd place in
national award
By working collaboratively, Mark Dransfield and Rachel Wicaksono
(YSJ Business
School) won second place in
the national Jorum Learning & Teaching competition.
Mark assisted Rachel in the development of a reusable learning
object for English as a Lingua Franca. They presented their winning
entry at the ALT-C conference on 8 September 2009. Read more >>

the University. These are academic members of staff with an
enthusiasm for learning technologies and a willingness to
experiment with diverse methods of delivery.
