York St John University encourages applications from students with disabilities. Students and staff are committed to creating a positive learning environment, which allows everyone to participate fully in all aspects of YSJ life.

The Disability Advice Team are a point of contact for students with a disability. We respect confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).


Our team offers advice and guidance to students with a wide range of conditions:


  • Specific Learning Difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Disorders
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Mental Health issues
  • Sensory impairments
  • Long term conditions such as epilepsy or diabetes
  • Physical or mobility difficulties
